Choosing The Right Color

Choosing a color can be a daunting task. Fortunately, there is many options to help you select your ideal style.

With technology there are many ways to help assist you in selecting your body colors, trim and doors. To keep things simple most doors and trim are typically some sort of off white.

Picking up samples from a local paint store.

Local paint stores always have paint samples you can grab. But they often have exterior and interior samples patterns. Allowing you to see several color pallets that complement each other. Choosing one of these patterns is recommended for those that need a little assistant or for those DIY owners.

Trying online simulator generators.

Yes, you read right. Most big box paint websites have simulators that you can virtually test out your selected colors on a picture of your room or surface. This is very simple to try out. Simply take a clear picture of your room or exterior area. Upload it to your paint simulator and select the paint you would like to see. Here are a couple simulators to test out.

Testing colors from paint samples

Another common way to try out new paints and a way we highly recommend on custom projects is trying out the color on a spot of your wall. In many cases colors do not look the same in your home or business than they do in the store or online. Its always a good idea to grab a small sample size of your color and with a soft brush try the color in an area that is commonly used. Make sure to use a soft brush to not create heavy paint brush strokes on your wall. You can do this several times to find the exact paint color you desire.
